The Augustana College men’s basketball team moved into the top five of the National Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll.

The Vikings are ranked fifth and are making their first appearance in the top five since Jan. 25, 1988.

Augustana’s highest ever ranking in the NABC Top 25 Poll was No. 3 on Jan. 11, 1988.

Augustana is ranked the highest of three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams this week. MSU Moorhead moved up one spot and is ranked seventh while Minnesota State jumped up two spots to No. 18. Northern State received votes in this week’s poll.

The top four spots in the poll went unchanged this week with Indianapolis earning 13 first-place votes and the top spot in the poll for the second straight week. Lincoln Memorial earned three first-place votes and retained the No. 2 spot in the poll followed by Florida Southern, Barry and Augustana rounding-out the top five.
