Monday is the deadline for entries in the South Dakota Soybean Yield Contest. Contest Chair Jon Schaeffer says it will be another exciting year with the crop looking so good across the state. Last year was a record setting year with the first yield over 100 bushels per acre. He thinks they could top that.

Schaeffer says there are some great cash prizes with the contest, but the goal is to help farmers achieve higher yields through the sharing of cropping practices.

South Dakota Soybean Association President John Horter says the state is well on its way to another record crop, with farmers already planting a record number of acres.
