Augustana women’s basketball senior Shaunteva Ashley was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference South Division Player of the Week on Monday.

This marks the seventh time this season that Ashley has taken home the honor, the most of any player in the conference

. Ashley helped Augustana secure a first-round home NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament game by leading the Vikings to a 2-0 road record over the weekend. On Friday, Ashley controlled the offense with a 15-point, six-rebound and six-assist effort in a 61-44 victory at Upper Iowa. The Sioux Falls, S.D. native then finished her final regular season game of her career on a high note, erupting for 30 points to go along with five assists, and five steals in an 83-65 victory at Winona State, handing the Warriors their only home loss this year. For the weekend, Ashley averaged 22.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 4.0 steals in 35.5 minutes. The Vikings return to the hardwood on Wednesday as the No. 4 seed in the South, hosting the North Division’s No. 5 seed Minnesota Duluth at 6 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena.
