Augustana senior right-handed pitcher/utility player Jenelle Trautmann has been named one of three finalists for the Schutt Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Division II National Player of the Year.

Trautmann joins Missouri-St. Louis junior pitcher Hannah Perryman and North Georgia junior pitcher Courtney Poole as one of the three finalists for the Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year award.

The winner of the national player of the year award will be announced at the Division II National Championship/All-American Banquet on Wednesday, May 20 in Oklahoma City.

Trautmann, a three-time All-America selection from Hastings, Minn., was recently named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year and the Daktronics Central Region Pitcher of the Year. She has compiled a 32-3 record and an ERA of 1.80 in 43 appearances and 34 starts this season. Trautmann has worked 214.1 innings and struck out a single-season record 301 batters while holding opponents to a .200 batting average. She currently ranks third in Division II in wins and eighth in batters struck out in 2015. She ranks first amongst active players in Division II and third across all division’s with 104 career victories. She also ranks fifth amongst active players with 808 career strikeouts. Trautmann is Augustan’s all-time leader in wins and strikeouts.

Trautmann is also a threat at the plate for the Vikings, batting .414 in 2015 with 10 doubles and 20 home runs. She has driven in an NCAA-leading 72 runs in 2015 and is just three RBI shy of setting the single season record at Augustana. Trautmann ranks second all-time in NCAA Division II history with 75 career home runs and is the career active leader in Division II in home runs, while also ranking fourth across all division’s in home runs amongst active players. She is Augustana’s all-time leader in career RBI with 237, which is the second-most amongst Division II active players and the fifth-most amongst all active players in the NCAA. Tratumann owns a career batting average of .368 to go along with 43 doubles, 75 home runs and 237 RBI.
