Augustana women’s basketball senior Shaunteva Ashley was named to the 2015 Women’s Division II Bulletin All-America First Team in a release by the association on Monday

. For Ashley, this makes the third time this year that the Sioux Falls native has been selected to an All-America team by various publications. She was named to both the Daktronics and WBCA teams earlier this month.

The Roosevelt grad joins Jada Blackwell (Cal Poly Pomona), Shareta Brown (Wayne State University), Chontiquah White (West Texas A&M), and Kate Lehman (Fort Hays State). Ashley is the only non-center to make the first team.

Ashley was a force for the Vikings this season, setting new career highs in points (21.1), rebounds (4.9), and assists (5.4) per game. In 22 NSIC games, the NSIC Player of the Year led the conference in points (19.7) and assists (5.5), while ranking third in steals (2.1). The former Roosevelt High star poured in at least 25 points in a game on seven occasions in conference play. Not just a scorer, Ashley was also a willing distributer, posting five-or-more assists in a game in 13 out of the 22 contests. She also moved into third place on the all-time scoring (1,815) and assists (478) lists this past year. Ashley took over the program’s all-time leader in made free throws spot with 486. The 5-foot-8 guard also became the first player in program history with at least 1,800 points, 500 rebounds, and 400 assists in a career. Augustana finished the season 21-10, which included a 14-8 record in the NSIC, good for an eighth-place finish. The 21 wins marks the 10th time in the past 11 years that Augustana has won at least 20 games in a year.
