Augustana softball landed three players on the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association All-Central Region First Team the national organization announced Thursday.

Third baseman Caitlin Nichol, shortstop Sarah Kennedy and right-handed pitcher/utility player Jenelle Trautmann all earned First Team All-Central Region honors.

The NFCA All-Region team was voted on by NFCA member coaches from each region. All honorees will now become eligible for selection to the 2015 NFCA Division II All-America teams which will be announced Wednesday, May 27.

Trautmann, who was recently named a top three finalist for the Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II Player of the Year, has been selected first team all-region by the NFCA in four straight seasons. Trautmann was named the NSIC’s Pitcher of the Year earlier this season before being named the Daktronics Central Region Pitcher of the Year earlier this week. She has compiled a 32-3 record and an ERA of 1.80 in 43 appearances and 34 starts this season. Trautmann has worked 214.1 innings and struck out a single-season record 301 batters while holding opponents to a .200 batting average. She currently ranks third in Division II in wins and eighth in batters struck out in 2015. She ranks first amongst active players in Division II and third across all division’s with 104 career victories. She also ranks fifth amongst active players with 808 career strikeouts. Trautmann is Augustan’s all-time leader in wins and strikeouts.
