Augustana University baseball’s Jacob Blank earns National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-Central Region Pitcher of the Year honors on Thursday as announced by the NCBWA.
Blank is joined by Patrick O’Donnell and Kris Ashland on the NCBWA First Team All-Central Region team.
Blank, a native of Gretna, Nebraska, added two more accomplishment to his list of accolades during the 2017 season. He was named NCBWA First Team All-Central Region honors and the NCBWA Central Region Pitcher of the Year.
On May 9 Blank was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year while also earning First Team All-NSIC honors. His incredible season has included a no-hitter, two NSIC Pitcher of the Week honors, an NCBWA Central Region Pitcher of the Week honor and an NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week honor.
In 2017 Blank posted a perfect 10-0 record, which is a single-season program record, with an ERA of just 0.78. His ERA is the lowest in the NCAA.
