Augustana University senior shortstop Sarah Kennedy has been named the Central Region Player of the Year by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.

Kennedy was also named All-Central Region First Team while sophomore catcher Shannon Petersen earned All-Central Region Second Team honors.

Kennedy will now advance to the D2CCA All-America ballot as an all-region first team selection.

A senior from Bettendorf, Iowa, Kennedy was has been named Central Region Player of the Year twice in her career after earning the same honor as a sophomore in 2015. She has twice been named the NSIC Player of the Year (2015 and 2017) and is making her third straight appearance as an all-region performer.
