Augustana University junior guard Jordan Spencer has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference South Division Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Spencer, a 6-foot-2 guard from Milton Keynes, England, averaged 28.0 points, 7.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in a road split last weekend. He went 20 of 34 (58.8 percent) from the field, including 9 of 19 from 3-point range.
Spencer compiled an assist to turnover ratio of 7.5 in 36.5 minutes of play on the weekend. He opened the weekend with a career-high 34 points to go along with eight assists, six rebounds and two steals at Upper Iowa. Spencer went 13 of 19 from the field and hit a career-high seven 3-pointers against UIU. He knocked down a 3-pointer for his first bucket of the night at Winona State giving him exactly 1,000 points for his career
. Spencer finished with 22 points, seven assists and three rebounds in the win over the Warriors. Spencer is the 34th player to score 1,000-plus career points at Augustana and the 10th player to play for 14th-year head coach Tom Billeter.
This marks Spencer’s second career and second NSIC Player of the Week honor this season. This marks the fourth time Augustana has had a player earn player of the week honors this season.
