No. 18 Augustana University men’s basketball opened the 2016-17 season on Friday night with an exhibition game at historic Cameron Indoor Stadium with an exhibition game against Duke.

The No. 1-ranked Blue Devils shot 42 free throws in the contest and defeated the Vikings 98-45.

Mike Busack led the Vikings in scoring with 11 points, finishing the night 4 of 9 from the field, including 3 of 7 from 3-point range. Adam Beyer and Lucas Walford each added nine points for the Vikings.   Jordan Spencer added four points, four rebounds and seven assists for Augustana. John Warren and Austin Saugstad each scored five points on the night for the Vikings.

Duke had four players in double-figures, led by Luke Kennard who finished with 17 points. Amile Jefferson added nine points, 14 rebounds and three assists for the Blue Devils and Grayson Allen pitched in with 16 points, hitting 9 of 12 free throws in the contest.
