Augustana University soccer earned the third seed for the second consecutive year in the NCAA Central Region Tournament and will face No. 6 seed Harding the NCAA announced on Monday.

The Vikings (18-2-1) will take on the Bison (15-3-2) in Mankato, Minn. on Friday at 1 p.m. (CT). Friday’s game between the Vikings and the Bisons will be the first meeting between the two teams on the pitch.

The winner of Friday’s game will play No. 2 seed and host Minnesota State on Sunday Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. (CT)   Augustana earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Central Region Tournament by winning the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament this past weekend, defeating Winona State 1-0 on Sunday.

This is the third time Augustana has qualified for the NCAA Central Region Tournament. All three NCAA Tournament appearances have come under the direction of 10th-year head coach Brandon Barkus Central Missouri earned the No. 1 seed and Minnesota State the second seed, each playing host for the first two rounds of the tournament. Augustana (No. 3), Minot State (No. 4), Winona State (No. 5) and Harding (No. 6) round out the remaining teams in the field.
