The Northern Sun Conference has named a pair of Augustana players as the best of the week in basketball.
Augustana’s Logan O’Farrell has been named the women’s South Player of the Week after averaging a double-double this past weekend.
O’Farrell, a junior guard from Summit, S.D., averaged 14-points and 12 rebounds while helping lead the Vikings to wins over rival Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State.
Against the Cougars O’Farrell set a new career-high in rebounds with 17, while still scoring 10-points for her team-leading fourth double-double of the season. Against the Mustangs O’Farrell was equally impressive scoring 18-points and grabbing seven rebounds.
For the third time this season, Augustana University junior guard Jordan Spencer has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference men’s South Division Player of the Week.
Spencer, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound guard from Milton Keynes, England, averaged 24.5 points, 5.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals in a pair of road wins last weekend. He shot 53.1 percent from the field, hitting 17 of 32 shots while also going 8 of 9 (88.9 percent) from the free throw line. Spencer opened the weekend with 10 points, eight assists and three steals at USF.
