Augustana University men’s and women’s basketball both ranked in the top four in NCAA Division II in attendance for the 2015-16 season the NCAA announced on Wednesday.
Augustana men’s basketball ranked second in the nation with 43,631 fans attending 16 home games for an average of 2,726 fans per game. The total attendance for women’s basketball was 25,650 fans for an average of 1,710 fans per game which ranked fourth in the country.
The Augustana men’s basketball team has ranked in the top 15 in the nation in attendance for 17 straight seasons, including 13 appearances in the top 10.
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference ranked second in the nation in women’s basketball attendance in 2015-16. In 231 games, 197,864 fans attended NSIC women’s basketball games for an average of 860 per game. The NSIC ranked third in the country in men’s attendance with an overall number of 276,175 for an average of 1,200 fans per game.
