Augie Baseball Hosts Regional

In a weekend that saw the Augustana baseball team claim their second straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament, the Vikings were named the number one seed in the NCAA Division II Central Region for the NCAA DII Baseball Tournament.

The Vikings will host the DII Central I Region in Sioux Falls as they take on No. 8 seed Oklahoma Baptist in the opening game of the regional. Also traveling to Sioux Falls will be No. 4 seed Minnesota State who will be facing off with No. 5 seed Arkansas-Monticello.

The DII Central II Region will be hosted by No. 2 seed Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. as they will face off with No. 7 seed Missouri Southern. The other opening matchup in the region will be No. 3 seed St. Cloud State facing off with No. 6 seed Central Oklahoma.

The winner of each region will advance to the DII Super Regionals on May 24-25 where the higher seeded team will host a best-of-three game series for a chance to go to the DII College World Series in Cary, N.C. on June 1-8.
