The Yankton County Commission got the results of an audit done by the state Department of Legislative Audit at their meeting yesterday. A number of problems were found after an audit last year, mostly with record keeping and organization.
Roger Schnabel, the auditor in charge told the commission that they did not find any major violations…
Schnabel said they found that the county is holding a number of properties that they can’t sell because of tax issues with the City of Yankton…
Commission Chairman Bruce Jensen told Schnabel they appreciated the help from the state agency…
Schnabel told the commission that Auditor Patty Hojem has adopted the practices they have suggested to clear up the prior problems.
