American Sheep Industry Association leaders are weighing in with USDA as they take public comment on their Mandatory Livestock Price Reporting rules. ASI Executive Director Peter Orwick says they began working with USDA last fall when they reauthorized MPR.

He says there are two lamb reporting provisions they’re working on with the agency now. Orwick says the second one involves formula carcass price reporting.

Orwick says the USDA is proceeding properly with the price reporting rules and regulations and making sure everything is transparent and those doing the reporting are protected.

Orwick says his group is hoping the USDA includes negotiated formula lambs in their price reporting rules.
