American Sheep Industry Association Executive Director Peter Orwick headlines speakers addressing South Dakota Sheep Grower members at their convention this weekend in Brookings. The convention opens Friday with Orwick speaking on Saturday. He says two of the primary issues he’ll talk about include animal activists and attempts to limit livestock grazing.
Orwick says another problem he’ll address is the recent rash of undercover videos used by activists to stop normal agricultural practices.
Orwick says besides the issues he’s talking about, American Lamb Board officials will address convention goers about check off funding being used for a Lamb Quality Audit and about using genetic measurements for breeding programs.
