Worthington, Minnesota area farmer Bill Gordon who serves as Vice President of the American Soybean Association was in Washington DC this week and met with Chief Ag Trade Negotiator Gregg Doud. He says he urged the administration to get going on resolving the trade war with China and restoring U.S. ag markets into that country.
He says working out a trade resolution takes time but however long it takes, it must be done correctly.
Gordon says any business that can be done with China for getting more soybeans to them would be helpful given the large carryout American soybean farmers currently have.
Gordon says it’s also important U.S negotiators craft a resolved trade deal with China that includes all facets of U.S. agriculture negatively impacted by the trade war.
