This week the Trump administration has indicated it intends to withdraw from the U.S. South Korean Free Trade Agreement or KORUS. American Soybean Association President Ron Moore says that’s very disappointing and could lead to disastrous consequences for America’s farmers and ranchers.
He says of the 1.3 million metric tons of soybeans that South Korea imports, half of that comes from the United States.
Moore says KORUS has been a major benefit for U.S. agriculture.
Moore says that repeatedly walking our trade relationships to the brink or actually breaking them only weakens our standing abroad for export business.
