USDA officials says U.S. soybean exports to Vietnam are projected to slow to 550,000 metric tons this year. That’s a drop of 110,000 from the previous year. That market blip is just an indication of how cyclical markets are. That’s according to American Soybean Association Board member Kevin Scott.
He says there are other markets for U.S. soybeans that can help pick up that loss.
He says another market possibility is Cuba, although it’s not one of the bigger potential customers, it’s still important. Scott says ASA is currently being represented in Cuba.
Scott says no matter the size of the market, everyone counts.
Brazil is now the top exporter to Vietnam, just recently surpassing the United States..
