The trade war between the U.S. and Mexico, China and Canada has escalated as China and the U.S. have imposed more tariffs on each other today. American Soybean Association Board member and Valley Springs, South Dakota grower Kevin Scott says he’s discouraged by the negative effects of the tariffs.
He says it’s disappointing that all the work the soybean industry has done to develop good relationships with its trading partners are being wiped out.
Scott isn’t sure it’s the best move for Senators to move forward with legislation to keep the President from imposing tariffs. That’s being looked at by Senate Finance Chairman Orrin Hatch and a pair of other Republican Senators.
Scott says he doesn’t think tariffs are a good way to do business.
