Late last week, The U.S. House rules committee held a hearing on the Customer Protection and End User Relief Act. The measure reauthorizes and reforms the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. 30 agricultural groups back the bill. One of those is the American Soybean Association. President Ray Gaesser who farms near Corning, Iowa says the measure provides customers protections and makes reasonable changes to earlier CFTC stringent rules.
Gaesser feels good about the bill’s chances of passing.
The next stop for the Customer Protection and End User Relief Act is the House floor.
