Arrest Made in Yankton Stabbing

About 9PM Monday night Yankton Police were called to the 300 block of Douglas Avenue in response to a stabbing. Upon officer’s arrival, they provided first aid to the male victim, who was later transported to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital.
A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 37 year old Chad B. Elkins. Elkins was arrested for Aggravated Assault and taken to the Yankton County Jail, where he remains in custody.
The victim is expected to recover from the wounds sustained during the assault.
