The ranking member on the House Armed Services Committee, Mac Thornberry says it’s important for his committee to work closely with the agriculture committee because they’re so closely tied together. One area he says is with exports.

The Texas Congressman says agricultural trade relationships help the country’s overall relationship with other nations.

Thornberry who’s retiring after serving 26 years in Congress at the end of this session says what’s needed in Congress is for both sides of the aisle to work together and not be trapped in partisan and unyielding positions.

Thornberry says a Representative may not agree with his fellow member but needs to find a way to work together to find middle ground on the various issues in order to benefit the country.
