Tourism in South Dakota again hit record numbers in visitors, spending and economic impact in 2016.
Lieutenant Governor Matt Michels had some of the numbers….
Michels says those visitors spend some significant dollars in the state…
Both visitation and spending were up about one point five percent from the previous year.
Tourism Department Secretary Jim Hagen is confident they can continue to grow those numbers…..
Hagen says they continue to tweak the state’s message….
It was the seventh year in a row where the return on visitation has grown. The numbers were released at the conclusion of the Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Pierre.
