The numbers of pheasant and quail taken during last year’s hunting season in Nebraska increased dramatically from the previous year.
Nebraska Game and Parks report the pheasant harvest was up 26-percent and the quail harvest shot up 73-percent.
Upland Game Program manager Jeff Lusk says the impact of drought conditions a few years ago have been erased.
Lusk says breeding conditions were excellent last year.
Lusk says early surveys of pheasant and quail populations point to another good breeding year.
