Animal Agriculture Alliance Urging Producers Be Vigilant In Hiring Ag Workers

Animal Agriculture Alliance Urging Producers Be Vigilant In Hiring Ag Workers

Activists attack on farms and ranches isn’t letting up and some have been successful in getting a job on an ag operation and then filming an undercover video that damages that operation. The Animal Agriculture Alliance is urging producers to practice vigilance in the hiring process. Hannah Thompson Weeman with the Alliance says all animal care must be of the highest level.

She says one of the most important safeguards producers can take is make sure you verify whoever you’re thinking about hiring.

Weeman says even though some activists in the past have signed agreements on farming operations they’ve worked on and then ignored those, it’s still important to have those in place.

Weeman says if producers want help in vetting potential new employees they can contact the Animal Agriculture Alliance and they’ll help them in that process. She says it’s always a good idea to use social media to check up on any future potential employee.
