The Animal Agriculture Alliance is appalled by the recent actions of Direct Action Everywhere, an extreme animal rights group. The Alliance’s Hannah Thompson Weeman says as part of its Animal Liberation conference, they spearheaded a protest where they unlawfully entered barns at a California farm and harmed and stole animals
She says dozens of the activists were arrested for trespassing. Weeman says farmers and ranchers need to be vigilant to guard against these types of actions and protect their animals.
Weeman says its critical farmers and ranchers pay close attention to any visitors, people driving by, and anything that looks suspicious.
