The Animal Agriculture Alliance is pleased that some Indiana lawmakers are asking for an investigation of the Human Society of the United States. The lawmakers claims HSUS is using deceptive fundraising tactics. The Alliance’s Hannah Thompson says HSUS and other animal rights groups bring in millions of dollars every year with little of it used to protect animals.
Thompson says not only are HSUS’s activities questionable, they also have a specific agenda.
Thompson says it’s important all groups are very open about their activities and what their intentions are.
Indiana lawmakers are requesting the State’s Attorney General issue a consumer alert about the fundraising of HSUS and clarify confusion between the national group and local animal care groups.
