The Thanksgiving holiday is right upon us and despite less people traveling, consumers are expected to eat 45 million pounds of turkeys this year. Minnesota Turkey Grower’s Executive Director Sarah Anderson says with more people cooking at home due to the pandemic, many will be preparing that meal for the first time.

She says her Association along with several others have websites available with Turkey cooking tips. Anderson says Turkey remains a very healthy dish.

Anderson says Minnesota leads the nation in turkey production.

Anderson encourages consumers to enjoy turkey all year long not just during Thanksgiving or over Christmas. She says producers effected by the pandemic need and appreciate that support.
