The USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service says the U.S. recently sold a record amount of sorghum. The sale of 32 million bushels topped the previous record of 22 million bushels that was set in December of 2014. National Sorghum Producers and Sorghum Checkoff CEO Tim Lust says sales have been strong all year even ahead of the fall sorghum harvest.
He says part of the reason for the sales success is that prior markets that bought U.S sorghum purchased it again.
Lust says China and Japan continue to be good customers and new business is being seen in Vietnam.
Lust says there are also great future potential markets for U.S. sorghum in both India and Kenya.
