2020 will be the year known as the year of the Coronavirus Pandemic and its impacts on U.S. agriculture. America’s Sheep producers had been seeing positives with markets for their lambs just ahead of Easter this year. American Sheep Industry Association Executive Director Peter Orwick says then in March, the pandemic hit and caused devastating losses for lamb producers.

He says the lamb industry has just recently seen some significant recovery from the pandemic.

Orwick says the other major impact from the pandemic for sheep producers was the loss of price discovery.

Orwick says its critical to get that price reporting back as it’s key for sheep farmers and their risk management.
