The American Petroleum Industry has launched a new advertising campaign against the Renewable Fuel Standard this month. The campaign comes just ahead of the deadline for the Obama Administration to finalize three years of volume requirements under the mandate. Petroleum Institute’s Director of Industry Operations Bob Greco says they’re expecting EPA to release the volume levels soon.

He says they want the Obama Administration to pay particular attention to the guidelines in the rule and not allow the volumes to exceed what he calls the “blend wall”.

Greco says their advertising focuses on other opponents to the renewable fuels mandate beyond just the oil and gas industry.

Greco says because Congressional action is not likely anytime soon, API’s ad campaign targets the President because that’s where the review will happen.
