The American Farm Bureau Federation wrapped up their annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona this week by approving a policy roadmap for the coming year. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal, who is also Vice President for AFBF, presided over the resolution session. He says delegates voted to keep farm programs connected to the nutrition title in the upcoming farm bill.

He says their membership also voted overwhelmingly to support the regulatory reform legislation now before Congress.

VanderWal says the membership also voted to ask the federal government for more information on how producers comply with the Veterinary Feed Directive and allow more time to come into compliance.

VanderWal says their members also support immigration reform in which a reliable and stable workforce is guaranteed for agriculture.
