American Farm Bureau members hammered out policy at their recent annual meeting. From that the Farm Bureau Board of Directors formed a strategic plan to implement that policy. Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap says they decided on a four-pronged approach.
He says their policy calls for tweaking the ARC component of the new farm bill which includes using Risk Management Agency data for farm payments rather than NASS county averages.
Paap says the new farm bill must be written in conjunction with the nutrition program and it must have a strong safety net.
He says they had record attendance at their meeting with over 7500 individuals taking part.
