American Farm Bureau members opened their 2016 annual meeting in Orlando, Florida over the weekend. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says they’re discussing environmental regulations, taxes and labeling issues.
He says on the environmental front, Farm Bureau is backing attempts in the House to get rid of the Waters of the U.S. rule which is expected to come up this week.
VanderWal says besides policy issues, delegates will be electing a new national President to replace Bob Stallman who’s retiring. He says there are four candidates vying for the post and each would do a good job if elected.
The four candidates are Barry Bashue from Oregon, Don Villwock of Indiana, Zippy Duval of Georgia and Kevin Rogers from Arizona.
