This week Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley predicted the EPA will partially but not completely reverse its proposal to sharply lower volume obligations under the renewable fuel standard.  American Coalition for Ethanol’s Chuck Beck says while they’d like EPA to go to original volume requirements set earlier last year at 14.4 billion gallons, at least a partial reversal at 13.8 billion gallons would be helpful.

Beck says the recent trend appears to be turning in the ethanol industry’s favor.

He says written testimony sent  to EPA along with several hearings where ethanol supporters came out should have a large impact on EPA’s final decision expected out in a couple of months.

Beck says what else has helped the renewable fuel industry is the numbers of bi partisan Senators and Representatives who have weighed in on the issue favoring a reversal from EPA’s proposal.
