Persons speaking on the condition of anonymity say the Trump Administration has agreed to a new plan to boost renewable fuels and offset waivers requiring oil refiners from mandates to use them. American Coalition for Ethanol CEO Brian Jennings says despite those reports, there’s no official deal yet and he wants any agreement put in writing.

He says ethanol plants are experiencing a lot of damage from the small refiner waivers that have been granted.

Jennings says besides ethanol plants being hurt by the waivers, farmers who’ve already been hurt by the weather and trade war are seeing compounding negative impacts from the waivers on top of that.

According to the anonymous sources, the supposed deal the Trump Administration agreed to have the EPA factor the recent waivers into new annual biofuel quotas by adjusting the targets to reflect a three year rolling average of exemptions.
