The American Coalition for Ethanol wants President Donald Trump to initiate a plan to aid ethanol producers struggling to survive the economic fallout from the COVID 19 pandemic. ACE CEO Brian Jennings says they’ve sent that request directly to the President.

He says some economists have estimated that ethanol use could fall by more than 3 billion gallons in 2020.

Jennings says the administration needs to come up with a specific relief plan to provide funds as soon as possible.

Jennings says currently 50 percent of the ethanol production capacity is off line and that will only get worse without any relief provided through a plan put together by the administration as well as funding provided through any future CARES legislation.
