American Biodiesel Has Record Consumption In 2015

This week at the 2016 Biodiesel Conference and Expo in Tampa, Florida, industry leaders released data showing nearly 2.1 billion gallons of biodiesel consumption in 2015. National Biodiesel Board’s Ben Evans says that’s record use by consumers.

He says the concern however is that domestic production is flat due to a flood of imports.

Evans says one way to address that problem is to get policy makers to change the dollar per gallon biodiesel tax credit from a blender’s credit to a producer’s credit.

Evans says biodiesel imports last year jumped more than 25 percent to 670 million gallons.
