The group opposing an amendment on South Dakotas November ballot says most of the money supporting the issue is coming from out of state.
Will Mortenson, Chairman of South Dakotans Against “V” says more than three quarters of the money supporting the issue was not raised locally…..
The amendment would remove party labels from state candidates, and create an open primary where the top two on that ballot would move to November.
Mortenson says about seventy percent of the money for the amendment is from a New York group that hasn’t disclosed its donors…..
Mortenson says they are relying on a lower budget, grass roots type of campaign…..
The Chairman of the Yes on “V” ballot committee is former democratic Senate candidate Rick Weiland.
Amendment “V” is one of ten measures on the fall ballot.
