Energy Transfer Partners of Dallas, Texas, the company that wants to build an oil pipeline from the North Dakota Oil fields crossing South Dakota and Iowa into Illinois has been holding a series of meetings explaining their project. Peter Van Kley who farms in Sioux County near Alton was at this week’s meeting in Sioux Center. He sees the project as positive for the area and for economic development.
Van Kley is confident Energy Transfer Partners will be environmentally responsible and will make the sure the land is restored once the project is completed.
Van Kley says there are still a lot of specifics to be worked out regarding the final route for the project. At this time, He thinks part of it will touch part of his land which his relatives homesteaded in 1876.
