Alliance Considering Legal Action Against EPA For Mishandling Of Biofuel Testing

Alliance Considering Legal Action Against EPA For Mishandling Of Biofuel Testing

A newly formed Alliance wants to see expansion of American grown high octane biofuels. National Farmers Union along with Farmers Union Enterprises and the Urban Air Initiative have come together to work on that. Alliance member, South Dakota Farmers Union President Doug Sombke says to achieve that expansion the biofuel testing used by the Environmental Protection Agency needs to be fixed. He says he came to that conclusion after writing to Chris Grundler, head of EPA’s office of transportation and air quality.

He says their Alliance has enough information to proceed with legal action against the EPA over the testing problem.

Sombke says if the testing is corrected it will likely lead to more biofuels being available for consumers.

Sombke says if they proceed, their legal challenge will be filed in federal court in Washington D.C.
