The 2019 Nebraska Legislative session is complete and Cattlemen Association members saw some positive measures approved. Vice President of Legislative Affairs Laura Field says that included passage of the revamped Right to Farm Law.

She says the compromise bill brought extra protections for livestock producers from nuisance lawsuits.

Field also says approval of a tax conformity bill was positive for agriculture.

However, Field says their disappointed with the failure of State Senators to approve Comprehensive Property Tax Relief. She says they’ll work on it over interim and revisit the issue in the 2020 session.
