College and university graduates are about to embark on their new stage of life after receiving their diplomas in their respective degrees. Getting that first career job is an exciting time. As for graduates with an agriculture degree, finding that career job may in fact be easier than expected. Dr. Tom Paulsen is the agriculture department chair at Morningside University in Sioux City. Morningside started an agricultural curriculum eight years ago, and Paulsen says fortunately, Morningside has a 100 percent placement with its agricultural students.
Paulsen cites an USDA-Purdue University study that shows the trend nationwide features more students than available career jobs.
Paulsen says other Morningside students have been placed in ag finance, animal science jobs, and agriculture education.
