The Trump administration has come out with 24 foreign trade practices it wants addressed in a renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement. One of those is Country of Origin Labeling. R-CALF CEO Bill Bullard is pleased that’s included and said he met with the director of the President’s National Trade Council Peter Navarro to request COOL be included.
National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson says he’s glad the President is moving forward with including COOL in any NAFTA rewrite.
Johnson says he’s also pleased the President has included in his priorities for NAFTA renegotiation, an attempt to address the trade deficit the U.S. is facing.
The Trump administration also intends to use the 24 foreign trade practices in any bilateral trade deal it negotiates.
