The Agriculture Data Coalition has formed an advisory board that will help guide them in developing a data management repository to house agricultural information. Past Nebraska Corn Growers President Carl Sousek is one of the ten new committee members. He says his committee hopes to be a liason between farmers and ranchers and the coalition.
He says one of his goals is to make sure producers privacy is protected, but that they’re still able to access good agricultural data that will help them in their operations.
Sousek says his committee will be part of various pilot projects the Coalition wants to advance.
The advisory committee is made up of members from seven states who raise crops ranging from corn and soybeans to cotton, sorghum, wheat and potatoes.
