This week a large Agricultural coalition consisting of over 900 groups urged Congress to ratify the USMCA trade agreement. National Council of Farmer Cooperatives President and CEO Chuck Conner says all the political differences need to be set aside so the right thing can be done which is approving this remake of NAFTA.

He says while some in Congress want some tweaks to USMCA, there can be no major changes to the pact due to Trade Promotion Authority being in effect. Conner says the whole package needs to go forward.

Conner says the USMCA addresses biotech and other trade issues and calls for harmonized rules among the three countries.

Conner says their coalition wants lawmakers to move quickly once USMCA is submitted to Congress. He says Mexico is already expected to ratify the agreement next week.
