Four major agricultural and biofuel groups that won a significant court victory in the Tenth Circuit against small refiner exemptions from the Renewable Fuel Standard are calling on the EPA to finish its job restoring the RFS. Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Geoff Cooper says while denying of the gap waivers was a good first step, more needs to be done.
Cooper adds the fourth thing EPA must do is release its proposed renewable volume obligation requirements for 2021 that were suppose to be on out in July and have yet to be released. National Corn Growers Association President Kevin Ross says the damage to the RFS has created uncertainty for farmers.
American Coalition for Ethanol CEO Brian Jennings says the gap waivers that were denied never should have been considered in the first place and its imperative the EPA follow through with the tenth circuit court decision and follow the RFS as it is law.
The four agriculture and biofuel groups calling for EPA to follow the RFS include the Renewable Fuels Association, the American Coalition for Ethanol, the National Corn Grower’s Association and the National Farmers Union.
