The South Dakota Governor’s Ag Summit kicked off in Sioux Falls yesterday and the program is very reflective of Governor Kristi Noem’s agricultural priorities. South Dakota Secretary of Agriculture Kim Vanneman says that includes fostering the next generation in the industry and the Governor will be hosting a round table of young producers today.
Another pillar of Noem’s agenda is ag development and Joe Fiala with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development says that includes precision agriculture and livestock development.
Vanneman says the Summit brings agricultural leaders together from across the state to set the course for the industry in coming years.
The Summit continues today with the next generation panel and the Ag Ambassador luncheon which this year honors Lake Preston farmer Paul Casper.
